Hello Everyone!
My upload schedule has been a bit all over the place for the best part of 2019; however, I am thrilled to be able to tell you all that that won’t be the case any longer because I HAVE FINISHED MY EXAMS! As I am writing this, it is Wednesday 12th of June and I officially finished my exams and my school career yesterday and I am so happy! This post is a bit different from the usual bookish content, but I wanted to announce the end of my exams on here and talk a little about what is going to be happening with this blog and a whole load of other things before we continue with the regularly scheduled posts.
The whole exam period had felt very anti-climatic and unreal until yesterday morning when I woke up and thought ‘in a few hours I’ll be done. Done forever’ and suddenly I felt so much lighter. I hadn’t realised what a burden school and studying was and how much it was crushing my creativity and motivation until I suddenly didn’t have it any more. I feel like a physical weight has been lifted from my shoulders, which is a really weird feeling.
I’m not finished with education yet as I will be attending college to studying photography, starting in September, but the worst of it is over and I am now free to study and do what I want and not what I’m required to do! My schedule may change when I start college because I don’t know how much work I will have to do, but for the next 3 months, I will be back to posting twice a week on here (Tuesday and Friday at 5pm) as I always did with bookish content. I have a lot planned for the summer regarding reading because I finally have time to do some and loads of books to catch up on since I barely read anything in the first half of 2019. In particular I am planning to do an in-depth book to movie comparison of Harry Potter, which is something I’ve been planning since last summer’s re-read. I couldn’t do it last year because I didn’t think of it until I was on book 6 and then I had exams, but I’m free now (just like dobby!), which means I finally have the time to commit to such a big task.
Now that I am going to have a lot more time and an entire 3 months free to dedicate to my own projects, I am officially kick starting a lot of things that I have had in the works for years including my YouTube channel and a separate blog that will link up to my YouTube! Both will be dedicated to sharing my life, my adventures and the behind the scenes of photo shoots, writing my book and the planning of future projects. I wanted a separate blog to share my life, so that I can build a brand separate to my bookish brand and I also didn’t want my personal content to get drowned out by the masses of bookish content I share, so I made the decision to split my blog in 2. If you want to check out my new blog, then you can go to it here.
I hope you’ll all come with me over to the new blog as well as stick around here or if you’re not interested in my own life, then just stay here or visa versa. It means there won’t be such a mix of content on one blog now, so I think this is a good move. I am going to be talking more about my new blog and my other projects in my first post on the new blog, so if you want to hear more about what I have planned in terms of writing, YouTube and my business, then you can check out that post when it is up here!
You can also follow me on Instagram (@theoriginalbookdragon) if you want to know more of what I’m doing day to day and my YouTube for weekly vlogs! I hope you are all doing well and thank you for sticking with me whilst I finished my exams! What are you planning to do over the summer? What projects are you working on? Let me know in the comments below!
Goodbye for now!
