Hello Everyone!
Welcome to the first official post of 2020 and the new decade! In a few months I’ll be celebrating 4 years since I started blogging, which is crazy to think because life seems to be moving so fast! I’ve enjoyed blogging a lot over the last few years, but before we get into today’s post, I wanted to give you a few updates on how I’m going to run this blog in the new year…
If you follow my personal blog: photography.samanthadrage.co.uk or my YouTube Channel, then you’ll know that I’ve been studying photography at college for a whole term already. Photography is what I really love, but it is taking up a lot of my time because there is so much planning that has to go into everything, including location scouting and trying to find people to model for me. Because of everything I’ve got going on at the moment, I’ve been finding it hard to keep up with to posts a week here, one on my personal blog and posting on YouTube and Instagram too! Therefore, I have decided to cut out one of my book posts, to make it more manageable. I’ll still be posting here, don’t worry, but it will just be on Friday’s now and not Tuesdays anymore. Posts will still go up at 5PM UK time and I’ll still be talking about books on my Bookstagram: @theoriginalbookdragon, so you can follow me there for more real time updates!
I really hated the idea of having to cut out a book blog post because I love talking about the books I’ve read, but it was necessary and hopefully this will make everything more manageable. I also quickly wanted to mention that I’m no longer going to be doing monthly TBR’s both because it would only leave space for 1 ‘creative post’ a month what with doing monthly wrap-ups/book hauls, but also because I want to put less pressure on myself to read a certain amount of books and instead get back to reading when I want to (which usually leads to me reading more anyway!).
Anyway, that was a very long introduction with lots of updates, so I’ll keep it brief here. Today I wanted to just compile a list of some of the books I know I definitely want to get around to reading this year. This list is by no means in any order, nor are these the only books I’m going to read in 2020. I just wanted a list of books (mostly ones I’ve been meaning to read for a while) to refer back to when I’m stuck on what to read, so let’s just get into it shall we?
2020 TBR:
- Legendary + Finale by Stephanie Garber
- The Dark Between Stars by Atticus
- The Truth About Magic by Atticus
- Love Her Wild by Atticus
- The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J.R.R.Tolkien
- Great Goddesses by Nikita Gill
- Your Heart is the Sea by Nikita Gill
- Your Soul is a River by Nikita Gill
- Uncaged Wallflower by Jennae Cecelia
- Throne of Glass by Sarah.J.Maas
- We Are All Lemmings and SnowFlakes by Holly Bourne
- A Manifesto on How to be Interesting by Holly Bourne
- F**k No! by Sarah Knight
- Portrait Photography: From Snapshots to Great Shots by Erik Valind
- The Language of Flowers by Mandy Kirkby
These are some of the books I’m hoping to read this year, including a lot of poetry (because I just got a lot of poetry for Christmas and I am writing my own poetry, so I want to surround myself with inspiration), the ‘Throne of Glass’ series, that I’ve been procrastinating for about 4 years now, and the Lord of the Rings, which I just recently got into, among others.
As I said, this is by no means a complete list, but it’ll be nice to refer back to later in the year when I’m stuck on what to read, or planning a readathon! What books do you want to read in 2020? Do you have any 2020 Reading Goals? I’d love to know, so leave a comment down below or come and chat to me on my Instagram: @theoriginalbookdragon
Goodbye for now!
