Hello Everyone!
Today I wanted to do a TBR of sorts because I fell seriously behind on my reading at the beginning of the year, since I had exams. I picked the pace up a little this summer, but I was still somewhat slowed down by my Harry Potter re-read because I was writing notes about it and analysing it for my Book vs Movie series. Both of those things are over now though and it is already nearing October, so I need to pick up the pace if I want to complete my Goodreads goal! I don’t mind too much if I don’t finish the Goodreads goal, but there are still an awful lot of books that I’d like to get to by the end of the year – if I end up meeting my goal as well, then that’s a bonus!
I’m certainly not going to be talking about each book individually because there are far too many for that, but i will add little notes next to them if there is something to say, so here is all the books I want to read before 2020:
Caraval Trilogy by Stephine Garber – I hope to have finished this trilogy by the time this post goes up because I’m writing these a little in advance. I’m loving them though, so I don’t think that will be a problem.
The Trouble with Perfect by Helena Duncan – The sequel to a book I read last year
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (re-read)
Radio Silence by Alice Oseman
Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu
Percy Jackson series (1-5) – Also a long overdue re-read
Ink Trilogy – half re-read because I want to read the first 2 again before I start the third that came out this year.
Last 3 mortal instrument books – I started re-reading The Mortal Instruments series at the beginning of the year, but I never finished it, so I’d like to finish it, so I can carry on with my entire shadowhunters re-read next year.
Are We All Lemmings and Snowflakes by Holly Bourne
The Manifesto on How to be Awesome by Holly Bourne
What if it’s us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera
And a Happy New Year by Holly Bourne
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell (re-read)
Almost Midnight by Rainbow Rowell
Lord of the Rings – I don’t expect to finish Lord of the Rings before the end of the year by any means, but I watched the films for the first time this year and want to at least start reading the books this year because the world and story are so fascinating, but there are so many loose ends in the films.
Those are the books I would like to read before the end of the year, which I think is going to be a bit ambitious of me and I really don’t think I will get them all read, but I am going to try my best. If you include all of Lord of the Rings, then this list would complete my Goodreads goal, but as I said, I’m not overly fussed about that. I mainly just want something to aim for to make me prioritise reading a little more, especially as I go to college.
What books do you want to read before 2020 arrives? How are you doing with your reading goals? I’d love to know, so leave a comment down below or come and chat to me over on my Instagram: @theoriginalbookdragon
Goodbye for now!
