Hello Everyone!
2019 is in full swing now and because of of all the other New Years posts I wanted to do, I didn’t get a chance to do a January TBR, so I thought I would do a 2019 TBR instead and compile a list of all the books I would like to get to in 2019. I am going to try and keep this list realistic and not go too much over my Goodreads goal of 52 books because I don’t want to overwhelm myself. This year I am mainly focusing on reading all the books that are already on my shelves and re-reading some of my old favourites. I have a busy year this year as I am doing my GCSE’s and I am starting college. I find it easier to re-read books when my life is busy because it requires less of my attention and is a nice escape. I am also trying to save money this year for my future and all the things I want to do like travel, get a car, move out and so much more, so I am trying to limit the amount of money that I spend on books on a whim. That’s enough explanation though, let’s just get into all the books I want to read in 2019…
Fantasy:
- King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo (yes this is a new release this year, but there is no way I am not reading it immediatly!)
- Throne of Glass series by Sarah.J.Maas
- Ink Heart Trilogy by Cornelia Funke
- The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare
- Red Scrolls of Magic by Cassandra Clare
- Ghosts of the Shadowmarket bind up by Cassandra Clare
- Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare
- The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare
- School for Good of Evil Trilogy + The New sequal (Quest fro Glory) by Soman Chainani
- The Beast Player by Nahoko Uehashi
- Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare
- Wayard Son by Rainbow Rowell
- The Tyrant’s Tomb by Rick Riordan
- To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo
- Red Queen Series by Victoria Aveyard
Contemporary:
- Almost Midnight by Rainbow Rowell
- Turtles All The Way Down by John Green
- The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed
- Moxie by Jennifer Matthieu
- The Manifesto of How to be Interesting by Holly Bourne
- Are we all Lemmings and Snowflakes by Holly Bourne
- Again but Better by Christine Riccio
Dystopian/Poetry/Magical Realism:
- The Mermaids Voice Returns in This One by Amanda Lovelace (this is a poetry collection, but I didn’t want to make a whole new section for one book)
- The Book of Lost Things (I think this has some magical elements to it, so I wasn’t really sure which category to put this one in)
- Warcross by Marie Lu
- The Sacrafice Box by Martin Stewart
Non-Fiction:
- You Do You by Sarah Knight
- The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**k by Sarah Kinight
- Get Your Shit Together by Sarah Knight
- Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman
Classics:
- A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
Those are all of the books that are on my TBR currently for this year, which comes to 48 books in total, but this list doesn’t include the last few books of the mortal instruments series that I am still re-reading, so if I included those, then it would bring the number up to 52, which is my Goodreads goal for this year. At the time I’m writing this I am already several books into my goal thought, so I have made a strong start to this year and I’m hoping I can continue like that. What books are on your 2019 TBR? Have you set a reading goal? I’d love to know, so leave a comment down below or come and chat to me over on my Instagram (@theoriginalbookdragon)
Goodbye for now!
