Hello Everyone!
Today is day 7 of the 30-day book challenge, which means we have come to the end of the first week! Today’s prompt is ‘a book that makes you laugh’ and I have chosen ‘Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy’ by Cassandra Clare. Yes that means it is only day 7 and I have already used 3 Cassandra Clare books for this challenge, but are you really surprised? I’m sure not.
Before I continue I wanted to say that this post will contain some spoilers for the end of City of Heavenly Fire, so if you haven’t read the Mortal Instruments Series yet I suggest you do and then come back, so as not to be spoiled.
The reason I have chosen ‘Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy’ for this prompt is largely for one reason and that is that the main character is hilarious! Simon is funny, nerdy and a bit of a screw up whilst also being a great hero and I love him for it. He is constantly making film and video game references that most of the other Shadowhunters don’t understand which makes me smile at the other characters confusion and when I understand the reference he is making. I also think Jace is quite amusing in this book as well as he is still winding Simon up even though Simon doesn’t really remember who Jace is at this point and I found that amusing as usual.
That is really it for this post. I love everything Shadowhunters and Cassandra Clare and Simon is an amazing and hilarious character, so choosing the books(s) that told from his point of view for this prompt was kind of a no-brainer.
