Hello Everyone!
It is now Day 3 of the 30-day book challenge and today we are going to be talking about my favourite series. I have decided that, for the sake of this post and my sanity, I am not going to count trilogy’s as series because that would make choosing a favourite way to hard. In light of that fact, I am sure that most of you will have now guessed what my favourite series and that is, of course, The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare!
I read the mortal instruments for the first time when I was 12 years old over the February half term and I read the whole 6 book series in 2 days. I did nothing but read all day and I only ate and slept because my mum made me. My mum who is also a reader, had been bugging me to read The Mortal Instruments for a while, so I finally gave in because I had a whole week with nothing to do and no friends, so I sat down and read them and they literally changed my life.
The were the first books that I can say I truly fell in love with and they also introduced me to this online bookish world that I’m not sure I would have found without them. After I read them I spent the rest of the week on Tumblr and Pinterest looking at bookish memes, fanart and reading fanfiction of Wattpad and I am so glad I did. It would actually be another 2 whole years before I started by bookstagram account and another year after that that I started seriously book blogging.
I would tell you everything I love about this series, but we would be here all day, but I can promise that there will be a full series review either at the end of this year or the start of next year as I am planning a re-read of the entire shadowhunters chronicles in time for the release of Queen of Air and Darkness this December (which I am sooooooooo hyped for!). I am also really just due a re-read as I have only read all of the books once, which I think is completely unacceptable considering how much I love them and I can’t wait to dive back into one of my favourite worlds.
