Hello Everyone!
Welcome to day 2 of this 30-day book challenge! Today’s prompt is ‘a book you have read more than 3 times’ and there is actually only one book that could fufill this criteria as this year has been mainly focused on getting through my huge TBR that have collected over the past 3 years. Next year is going to be dedicated to re-reads, but for now I have one book to talk about and that is ‘Fangirl’ by Rainbow Rowell.
I talk about Fangirl quite a lot on here, but that is for good reason. I think it is such an amazing story and I really relate to Cath as a character. She is quiet, introverted, obsessed with books and plays a huge roll in her fandom. The biggest 2 things that make me love her and this book so much though is the way anxiety is represented though Cath as I also suffer with generalised and social anxiety, as well as the fact that she is a writer.
I too am a writer who struggles to come up with her own original ideas, so I could 100% relate to Cath’s struggles as a writer and as a person. The whole story is incredibly well-written and it covers a whole range of important subject matter. Reading Fangirl is actually what gave me the confidence to start this blog and to start writing my own things in general despite my fear that they wouldn’t be ‘good’ or that people wouldn’t like what I had written.
I first read Fangirl in 2016. I don’t remember exactly when in the year because I wasn’t tracking my reading at that point, but I am pretty sure it was earlier in the year because of what school year I remember reading it in. The second time was last summer whilst I was on music tour with my school in Germany. I wasn’t going to have much time or energy to read, but still wanted to bring a book with me, so I decided to bring Fangirl as I had read it before and it was only a stand alone novel, which would mean I wouldn’t feel like I had to re-read a whole series when I got home.
That is pretty much all I have to say about Fangirl, but if you want to read my full review on it, then I reviewed it in my #takeyourbookoutdoors post that I collaborated on with @bookishbronte from Instagram. (https://www.samanthadrage.co.uk/2018/07/17/takeyourbookoutdoors/)
What book have you read more than 3 times? I’d love to know, so leave a comment telling me and feel free to participate in this challenge as well!
Goodbye for now!
