Hello Everyone!
Today I thought I would share some of my most anticipated releases for the rest of 2018 with you all. I generally don’t get too excited about most new books coming out as I prefer to simply go to the book shop and pick up books that interest me on the day instead of looking things up in advance, but there are a few authors that I follow religiously and will buy literally anything they write. For that reason I do have a few books that I have been waiting for for a while, so I thought I would share those few books with you today.
9 from the nine worlds by Rick Riordan
The first book that I am highly anticipating this year is ‘9 from the nine worlds’ by Rick Riordan. This book takes place after the events of the Magnus Chase Trilogy, but still follows all of the beloved characters from those books, so of course I am excited to see what adventures they get up to next even though the series is over. This book is coming out on the 2nd of October and you can garuntee that I will be in the bookshop that very same day!
The Crimes of Grindelwald: screenplay by J.K.Rowling
I am sure everyone has heard of the screenplay by J.K.Rowling that is coming out later this year to accompany the new film ‘The Crimes of Grindelwald’ and if you haven’t then you must have been living under a rock. The new films are a little controversial, but I really like them despite the plot holes and inaccuracies within them. I see them personally as a separate series that is simply in the same world rather than having anything to do with the Harry Potter that we all know and love. This way I can simply enjoy the films without them tainting my experience of the original Harry Potter books. I like having the screenplays because I think it is a little something different and it is just more Harry Potter related merchandise to me, which means I am excited for it anyway. The screenplay is coming out on the 16th of November, but I have already pre-ordered it through my local Waterstones, so I won’t have to worry about fighting people for a copy this time!
Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare
I am sure that I am not alone in anticipating ‘Queen of Air and Darkness’ by Cassandra Clare, but I am definitely the most excited for this release! I adore Cassandra Clare’s writing and I fell in love with the world of the Shadowhunters the second I started reading ‘City of Bones’ (which was 3 and a half years ago now!), so naturally I am ecstatic for this new installment in the shadowhunters chronicles. I haven’t yet read ‘Lady Midnight’ or ‘Lord of Shadows’ as I much prefer to marathon a series, so the final installment in the trilogy coming out this year is an even bigger event for me because it means I can finally read the series! I plan to marathon them over Christmas and I am already bouncing off the walls with excitement. ‘Queen of Air and Darkness’ comes out on the 6th of December, which is just in time for my birthday and Christmas, so I won’t even have to buy it myself!
Those are my most anticipated releases of 2018! I know it is a very small list as there are only 3, but as I mentioned at the start looking into new releases is just not really my thing. I hope you enjoyed reading about some of my most anticipated reads and that maybe it persuaded you to look into them yourself. Are you excited for any of the books I have mentioned? What are your most anticipated releases of this year? I’d love to know!
Goodbye for now!
