This is a question that I get asked sometimes from my friends, family and other people that know I have a blog. For a long tim,e though I never really know what to say in answer to them because I wasn’t really sure or rather I wasn’t sure how to put what I felt into words. I have now been writing on this blog for 8 months and I think I have found the words to describe why I started blogging and I thought I would share them with all of you…
I started 2017 in a not very happy place. I was only 1 term into the new school year and already I was struggling. I didn’t want to be in school and having to turn up everyday was exhausting to the point where I would come home and sleep. I would never do anything else because I didn’t have the motivation to do so. I then decided that I didn’t like how my life was. I wasn’t doing anything with it. I had pushed everything that I enjoyed doing to the side just so that I could turn up to school: a place that made me miserable and stressed. I decided that I wanted to change this. I couldn’t change the fact that I had to go to school, but I could change what I did at home and how much effort I put into either of these tasks.
I had been toying with the idea of a blog or a website for a while at this point. I wanted somewhere to share my passion for writing, reading, photography and travelling. In the end I made it a mini project of mine for the last week of the Christmas holidays. I made and designed my blog and created my first post, which I put up shortly after in January. At the start my uploading schedule was a bit hit and miss, but I sorted out and decided that I wanted to post twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.
Going back to the question though I can now tell you that the reason I started my blog was not only that I wanted to share my passions with the world, but as a step forward to getting better. This blog was a step in the right direction to becoming a happier person. This blog has also helped me improve my writing and when I look back at the first post I wrote, I can clearly see the difference. I have also seen and improvement in my confidence as well. Long story short this blog has helped me express myself and it has given me something to do. This blog is something that I have to keep up with, but it also something that I love doing!
Do any of you have a blog? What are you all passionate about? What do you all do that helps you cope with the stress of day to day activities?
Goodbye for now!
