Hello Everyone!
It is the end of June, which means we are officially half way through the year! That is both amazing because it is almost the summer, but it has also gone scarily fast. Never the less the end of the month means another monthly round up of the books I have read, so hear we go:
The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan
I, the God Apollo – cast down to earth in the body of a gawky mortal teen – bravely endured a series of dangerous trials at Camp Half-Blood. Now, accompanied by Leo Valdez and the sorceress Calypso (also mortal, ha!), I must find the most dangerous Oracle from ancient times, who may hold the answers I need to return to Mount Olympus. To make things worse, the second member of the evil Triumvirate – a Roman emperor with a disturbing love of bloodshed – stands in our way. Without my powers (and good looks and singing voice), how does Zeus expect me to overcome the greatest challenge I’ve faced in my four thousand years of existence?
Ashes by Ilsa.J.Bick
Seventeen-year-old Alex is hiking through the wilderness when it happens: and earth-shattering electro-magnetic pulse that destroys almost everything. Survivours are divided between those who have developed a super-human sense and those who have acquired a taste for human flesh… Alex meets Tom, a young army veteran, and Ellie, a lost girl. They will fight together and be torn apart, but Alex must face the most difficult question of all, in such a vastly changed world, who can she trust?
Shadows by Ilsa.J.Bick
A world stalked by the flesh-eating Changed – young, armed and hungry.
A world ruled by Elders, willing to kill to survive.
A world in which no-one is safe, and humans might be the worst of the monsters.
Alex and Tom, unchanged, face unthinkable horror in their desperate struggle to find each other. But the biggest terror of all is the monster within. Because no one yet knows which young people change, or why. And no one knows who will be next…
There was my monthly round up for you guys. Have you read any of those books? Are any of you Rick Riordan fans? I am finding that this year is flying past, but I am getting a lot of books read! I will see you all next time!
Goodbye for now!
