Hello Everyone!
Today is Monday the 26th of June and it is a very special day. Are you all wondering why a seemingly random day in June is special? Well the reason today is special is that it it is Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’s 20th Birthday!!! That’s right everyone it was exactly 20 years ago today that J.K.Rowling released her first book in her spell binding series.
I am only 14, so I was, obviously, not alive at the time, but my parent were and my mum, being as much as a bookworm as me, bought them. She didn’t buy them when they were originally released, but rather waited for a while to see what all the hype was about. She wasn’t disappointed though. As soon as I was old enough she started reading them to me as bed time stories and then when my sister came along she read them all again. I then read them myself in year 5. I remember the 7th book being released and I remember all of the hype for the last 4 films. I used to play dress up with my sister and pretend we were witches and buying merchandise was always my favourite thing. I have been to the Warner Brothers Studio in London twice now and I am going back later this year. If you follow my Instagram then you will also know that I went to Universal Florida during the Easter holidays. I had so much fun running around like a child and squealing at the amazing representations of everything. The Hogwarts Express, The butterbeer, the rides, the acts and of course the shops. Everything was perfect.
What I am trying to get across here is that Harry Potter was a huge and fundamental part of my childhood. I know a lot of people feel the same way and I would like to thank J.K.Rowling for writing this amazing series. I can’t wait to visit the studios again this year and I can’t wait for the new fantastic beasts films to be released! What does Harry Potter mean to you?
Goodbye for now!
