Hello Everyone!
I have another book review for you all today and it is on the book Milk and honey by Rupi Kaur. I purchased the book Milk and Honey back in February for two reasons: 1. Everyone had it and I was super jealous 2. I was looking to expand my reading horizons and this was the perfect opportunity. In the past I have been very opposed to poetry and I have made it very clear to my parents, teachers and fellow students that I do not like studying poetry and would actually rather do PE! Me purchasing this book, which is a poetry book, of course shocked everyone I told. I was a little bit afraid that I wouldn’t like it but it wasn’t to expensive and practically everyone was raving about it so I figured it must be good.
I took it into school as a back up book because I had nearly finished my other book I was reading and I didn’t want to finish it and have nothing left to read. As it turned out, the back up book was needed and so I started it in school. This was a very bad decision because I was nearly sobbing. Milk and Honey is quite possibly one of the best books I have ever read. It is so incredibly emotive and the author really makes you feel everything. It actually only took me just over half an hour to read but within that half an hour I felt pretty much every single emotion known to human kind.
This is the book that I am now going to recommend if someone asks and if there is one piece of advice I can give you it is buy the book! Especially us girls because there is quite a bit in there that will help you see yourself a bit better. The entire book has a really powerful message and I think that everyone would benefit from reading it. There are also some beautiful illustrations in it that really help to tell the story. If anyone is wondering whether or not to buy it or is just looking for a really good short read then buy Milk and Honey. It will have you sobbing and really re- thinking your life all while really boosting your confidence. Milk and Honey has gone straight to the top of my favourite books list (Yes I do have a list) and I cannot think of anything that will match it.
Goodbye for now!
