Hello Everyone!
As bookworms we all have the problem of trying to keep up with the release dates of books that your favourite authors have written or the next book in that series you are reading and it is no different for me. I have several books that I am waiting for, so I thought I would share them all with you today.
The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan
As I mentioned on Monday, I am massive Rick Riordan fan and have been all my life. So when he announced his two new series I jumped for joy and bought them both straight away. I can’t wait to find out what happens to Apollo, Meg and – most importantly – my OTP Solangelo.
Magnus Chase, The Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan
As you can see I wasn’t joking when I said I loved Rick’s books and I can’t wait for the next instalment in the Magnus Chase series. I especially love this series compared to the others though because of how diverse the characters are. There are Muslims and Transgender characters and it covers arranged marriages and while all of Rick’s books have had fantastic representation in this is especially relevant to todays problems.
Red Queen (Book 4) by Victoria Aveyard
I started reading the Red Queen series almost as soon as it come out and while it was an absolutely amazing book I did then have to wait for the next one. I have now read the Glass Sword (book 2) and own the King’s Cage (book 3), but I have yet to read it and think I might leave it to the side until the fourth one comes out, so that I can read them all at once because they are really just to heartbreaking to read with months between them. They are the sort if books that you have to read all at once.
The Savage Dawn by Melissa Grey
This is one that most of you probably won’t have heard of, but I highly suggest that you read the series. It is The Girl at Midnight series by Melissa Grey and they are great books with dynamic and diverse characters in a world filled with kinds of magic that are completely original. The Savage Dawn is the 3rd one in the series and is due to be released in the summer of this year.
Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
The last book on my list is Lord of Shadows which is the second book in Cassandra Clare’s Dark Artifices. I have the first book (Lady Midnight), but I haven’t read it. I have so many other books to read, so I am planning to save The Dark Artifices series until I have all the books and I have decreased the amount of books on my TBR pile.
So that is it. They are the books that I am excited for this year and I am sure there will be another one of these in the future when Rick Riordan and Cassandra Clare write more books as I am sure they will. What books are you excited for this year?
Goodbye for now!
