A couple of weeks ago I started reading the Starcrossed series by Josephine Angelini and it is hands down one of the best trilogy’s that I have EVER read! I bought it a while back from Waterstones because it sounded really good and (I’m not gonna lie) I thought the cover looked really nice. My close friend had read the series prior to me and she had said that it was amazing and that I needed to read it right that instant so that we could talk about so I did just that I am so glad that I followed her advice.
The series is based around Greek mythology which I thought was really interesting because it isn’t immediately obvious when you read the blurb and it surprised me, but in a good way. I already have a strong interest in Greek mythology because I, like so many others, grew up reading the Percy Jackson books and I am still to this day waiting on the edge of my seat for the next one, so when I started reading and found that it was Greek mythology, but twisted completely differently AND aimed and teens and young adults I was almost sobbing with glee.
I won’t spoil the plot for anyone, but I will tell you that all three books were superbly written and there wasn’t a dull moment in the entire series. Josephine’s characters are so well written and very 3D as I like to call them. They are real and have feelings; she truly covers everything. She constantly kept me guessing and while I had some idea over what was going to happen next there was still a lot that I didn’t see coming.
If you haven’t read them and you have even a vague interest or have bought them but are putting off reading them, then I am telling you to put down the coffee, forget your homework and just read. These books will blow your mind.
