Hello Everyone!
Today is Day 22 of the 30-day-book-challenge, which means today we are going to be talking about a book that made me cry! More specifically though I have chosen to talk about the first book that made me cry because there have been several more recently, but I want to save talking about those for another post. The book I am going to be talking about is ‘The Fault in our Stars’ by John Green.
I’m sure that isn’t a huge surprise to a lot of you because I think everyone has cried at the fault in our stars, but it was significant for me because it was the first book I had ever cried over. I have always loved books, but I had never cried over one before and I wasn’t even aware that I every would or that was a thing that people did, so when I started sobbing, it made me realise just how much books mean to me and how powerful they can be. I had been moved to tears (and not just tears mind you – I was full on sobbing for several hours) by nothing more than words on a page, but it was then that I realised that they weren’t just words on a page to me. I had unnintentionally been comsuming myself in these words and stories for years and living through them when I couldn’t face living my own life and it was then that I realised it. I know not everyone likes John Green’s writing and I will admit that it is a very aquired taste, but I think you’d be lying if you said the story didn’t move you at least a little.
